Yvonne Weekes the Writer

Yvonne Weekes is a writer of poetry, prose and drama. Her poetry and prose have appeared in Interviewing the Caribbean, Wadagabei and Poui literary journals. Weekes was awarded first prize for her memoir Volcano by the Frank Collymore Literary Endowment in 2004 which was later published in 2006 by Peepal Tree Press. Her first play “Blue Soap” was published in the anthology Emancipation Moments in 2010.  “Nomad”, her first collection of poems was published by the House of Nehesi in 2019; she has read from her latest book in Norwich, United Kingdom, St. Maarten and Barbados.
