You've Been Blocked Self Help Book for Gay Men

You’ve Been Blocked is a discussion and analysis about the sometimes obscure lives of gay men. The book explores various ways gay men are invalidated, repressed or blocked from experiencing a comparable childhood to their heterosexual, “straight” peers. Authentic self-development is impeded during childhood for many gay boys, creating a higher propensity for mental health, emotional and social distress continuing into adulthood. Being blocked generates a higher likelihood for dysfunction, which may include depression, anxiety, self-esteem and interpersonal problems, addictions, and sometimes characterological issues, such as various implications of narcissism. An ironic different type of blocking continues to transpire after entering or being connected to some variation of a gay male community (GMC). The ultimate goal is to unblock by decreasing a need for external approval and tempering the influence of perfection seeking and the M-Ranking's stringent, superficial evaluation.
