Yesteryard

Yesteryard tells the stories of what used to be here, in the places they happened. Each episode is a walk: listen at home, or walk it and hear each part as you arrive.

Season 1 is Los Angeles. It starts free with the Venice canals: in 1905 a tobacco heir dug a town out of a salt marsh, and some of his canals are still here.

Written by sidewalk historian Mark Koester and local collaborators around the world. Every fact is sourced; the sources are on each episode's page.
