Joe Dickinson | Western States K-9 College

Joe Dickinson has spent 25+ years working with more than 10,000 dogs. Here, Joe examines what dogs actually do before a label, methodology, or familiar story becomes the training plan.

Expect direct case analysis and honest conversations about dog behavior and how trainers observe, think, evaluate, and make decisions.

Joe is the founder and lead instructor of Western States K-9 College, a professional dog-trainer education and certification school built around Training, Behavior, and Business. Students study professional training foundations; canine psychology, learning, and communication; training methodologies and philosophies; behavior evaluation and modification; the skills needed to become a behavior specialist; and how to start, operate, and grow a dog-training business.

Students learn to separate facts from assumptions, evaluate each dog individually, choose the appropriate approach, and build effective plans without allowing a predetermined label to dictate the conclusion.
