WISE Planet

The University of Calgary’s WISE Planet is an innovative and unique initiative funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to address the need for greater diversity and inclusion within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The program empowers Women in STEM to become agents of change to help transform organizational and societal culture to be more inclusive. It does this by delivering flexible one-year change leadership training. Experiential learning is a key part of the program as each participant works on a self-defined Leadership Equity Action Plan (LEAP) Projects to advance recruitment, retention and innovation in industry and academia. WISE Planet also provides networking opportunities and project support through the WISE Planet network.
