The vision of Windham School District is to empower students and transform lives through excellence in education, partnering with its stakeholders to provide quality educational opportunities. WSD's specific goals are to: (1) reduce recidivism; (2) reduce the cost of confinement or imprisonment; (3) increase the success of former inmates in obtaining and maintaining employment; and (4) provide an incentive to inmates to behave in positive ways during confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
The WSD helps offenders transform their lives by offering a comprehensive instructional program to meet the unique needs of incarcerated adult offenders. WSD is strongly committed to providing students with the educational tools needed to succeed through literacy, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and life skills programs.
