Remember these? I started as an amateur back in the nineties and this is with what I began my journey. Yep, folks laughed and they weren't cheap back then. I still used them to the best of my ability, believing that I accomplished as much as any with something not as popular. I've participated in repeater nets, fox hunts and other special events. Some products are similar to competitors like Icom. They still have their place, today. Although there are many new kinds of technology, never underestimate the value and reliability in analog, and especially RadioShack and Realistic! Fortunately, I've recently added DMR and D-Star capabilities.
