Why That Shot

Why did the director put the camera right there? How were films made before computer effects? And how much of what gets repeated about famous movies is actually true?

Why That Shot breaks down how great films were made – from money and sets to light, cameras and effects, all the way to editing and sound. We don't make things up or copy fan wikis: every fact comes from a direct source, such as interviews with the filmmakers, trade magazines from the time or audio commentaries, and you see the source right on screen.

For viewers who love movies and want to know what happened behind the camera.

Episodes are narrated by an AI voice, but the script, the facts and the final video are always checked and edited by a human. Film clips are used for commentary and analysis.
