Why Formulas Work

Why Formulas Work shows where each formula comes from, and why it is true.

Each video takes one formula and derives it in about a minute with simple shapes and small numbers. The pieces slide, split and rearrange until the formula is the obvious result. No memorizing, no "just trust it", and nothing you can't check for yourself.

Topics: algebra and geometry, probability and statistics, the math behind everyday money, and the mechanics of motion. Every derivation is worked by hand and checked against university and textbook sources before it is animated.

We teach the arithmetic only. Nothing here is financial, medical or legal advice. Teachers: the videos are free to show in class.
