Welisa Academy

The Welisa Academy and Dumisani P Mchunu Memorial Library channel has a two-pronged raison d'être. One, the channel will carry content derived from researching, observing, questioning, critiquing, criticizing and complimenting (where deserved) the education system in South Africa. This will range from policy (how government promotes or retards quantity, quality and equality in education provision), theory and praxis (predominant philosophies, approaches and methodologies in school management and teaching in various communities and schools). This first objective falls under the Welisa Academy brand. Two, the channel will share content on books and reading (from book reviews to interviews with writers, readers and publishers). The second objective falls under the Dumisani P Mchunu Memorial Library brand, a library founded in memory of the channel founder's late brother, who was, initially, an uMkhonto we Sizwe soldier (nom de guerre, Thembinkosi Zondi) and later a qualified teacher.
