Wakayummy Japan

Wakayummy is a food guide to Wakayama, Japan, made by a Wakayama-based team for travelers.

Seafood by the harbor, Wakayama ramen, small local eateries, and the food culture behind each dish.

Your guides are two characters we created: Ume, who grew up in her grandmother's harbor-side diner (in their story), and Goma, her little black Shiba.

When we feature a restaurant, we visit it in person and pay for our own meals. Any paid partnership will be clearly disclosed.

Coming soon: short food walks, how to order at a restaurant in Japan, and Wakayama's food culture.
