Violeta Laoshi | Chinese That Makes Sense

New to Chinese or looking for listening practice? Stay with me!

Hi, beautiful people! I’m Violeta, or Violeta 老师, a language learner and teacher who spent nine years in China teaching English and Spanish.

I created Chinese That Makes Sense because I believe in Comprehensible Input; but it must be TRULY COMPREHENSIBLE. Rather than random, disconnected Chinese, my course follows a careful, cumulative sequence. Each lesson recycles familiar, high-frequency language through meaningful repetition.

You’ll find a course path with lessons, as well as accompanying stories, conversations and real-life Chinese to reinforce the contents acquired during the lessons. But you'll also find clear explanations of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I don’t see structure and natural acquisition as opposites: sometimes a brief explanation is what makes a pattern click.

No overwhelming grammar. No pressure. Just engaging Mandarin you can gradually understand.

I’m happy you’re here. 欢迎你！💜
