Vilnir

In a nordic folk/fantasy style, Vilnir's songs not only explore the depths of human existence in all its facets, such as self-critical thoughts, fears, hopelessness, struggle, and suffering, but also confidence, love, hope, and joy. These are themes that have always preoccupied people and remain as relevant today as ever.

With our concept album „ELVA“ (which was released on September 26, 2025), we tell a tragic and mystical fairytale from the far north. What’s special about this story is that it addresses the topic of autism without mentioning it in the narrative or the songs. Gunnar lives near a small settlement with his wife Estrid and their son Sven, who manage a farm with livestock and fields. The focus, however, is the young, almost boyish Sven, who has an extraordinary friendship with a creature named Elva. As the story progresses, Sven’s peculiarities are increasingly revealed, and as is often typical of Nordic tales, everything ends in drama and death!
