Verna Ledford

Cheap, old-fashioned suppers for seniors, made with ordinary ingredients and a little kitchen know-how.

I’m Verna Ledford, your host for Appalachian comfort food: beans and cornbread, chicken and dumplings, and the suppers that stretch your grocery money.

Every week: easy meals for one or two, slow cooker dinners, three-ingredient suppers, and old comfort dishes worth remembering. Practical ways to cook smaller portions, use leftovers, and make what’s in the cupboard go further.

New suppers three times a week.

🍳 THE COOKBOOK: 36 Appalachian recipes, a 7-day supper plan with a shopping list, and a guide to adapting the recipes for one or two. Large-print edition included. Digital download—read on your phone or print at home: https://vernaledford.com
