Kicking lab | Takeyuki

I coach one thing: kicking.

It's the most important skill in football, and the one almost nobody actually teaches. Players are told to "just practice more" — so they repeat the same mistakes, thousands of times. A great kick isn't talent. It's mechanics, and mechanics can be coached.

On this channel: how a good kick really works, the drills that fix the common faults, and real sessions — kids at my school in Japan, and players I coach online around the world.

About me
I'm Takeyuki Tadokoro, a kicking coach based in Tokyo. I came out of the sports biomechanics lab at the University of Tokyo, where my research was on the inside-foot pass. I coach 3,000+ player-sessions a year, from 7-year-olds to professionals in Japan's top two divisions — including a Japan international. I've also coached at 13 clubs in London, in Austria and in Kenya, and my book on kicking has 10,000+ copies in print in Japan and Korea.
