Tonograph: Guitar Tab Editor

Tonograph is a guitar tab editor for Mac and Windows. Write tab, then hear it through a pedalboard you build yourself.

New in 1.1: plug in your guitar. Tune to the track, play through the pedalboard, and play single notes straight into the tab. Tonograph tells which string you played from the tone. You can also record in real time along with a click.

On this channel:
• Lick of the Week: short original licks with tab, fretboard and sound
• Tone Recipes: one phrase through different pedalboards
• Techniques, guitar input demos and how-tos

Tonograph also reads and writes .gp files, opens .gpx, exports PDF, MIDI and WAV, and lets AI clients such as Claude read and edit your score over MCP, with your approval.

One-time purchase on the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store. A free version for macOS does everything except save and export.
