Mikhail Safir

How it works: short explainers about the tech you use every day, told by an iOS engineer, in code.

What happens when you tap an app icon? How does Face ID unlock your phone? How does a push notification reach a locked iPhone? Each episode takes one familiar thing and follows it step by step: processes, frameworks, memory, networks, AI.

I'm Mikhail Safir, a Senior iOS engineer in Barcelona with 9+ years of building iOS apps. At Walmart Global Tech I built AR virtual try-on and a camera-based face measurement scanner. Before that, a security-sensitive banking app. On my own I built and shipped an AI health product end to end: iOS, Android, Python backend, servers and marketing.
