Tiny House Advocate

From a Master's Thesis to Parliament. Now Let's Make Change Happen.

Tiny House Advocate was founded by Karen Flett, an architectural designer, author and small-space housing specialist with over 15 years of experience. In 2026, Karen completed her Master of Architecture thesis proposing a solution to legalising Tiny Homes on Wheels.

Since presenting the THOW Solution at Parliament in May 2026, we've engaged with MPs, government agencies and industry leaders, established a working group of 60+ council representatives, and gained coverage through NZIA, Tiny Living Magazine and Stuff.

But we're only getting started!

Now we need to turn research into reality through regulatory change, industry collaboration, education and practical solutions.

We believe you should be able to own your home without owning the land beneath it.
