the Wrong Type Band

The Wrong Type is the indie dance punk solo project of Boyle Heights musician Albert James Kurniawan Sr.
After years of touring and playing in other people’s projects, Albert is stepping out of the backseat with music of his own. He currently plays drums in Long A with Richard Jankovich and Long Beach based skate punk band SIN DIRECCION. With the Wrong Type, he takes on guitars, bass, and synths alongside his main instrument, drums.
The name has a double meaning: a typo, and the feeling of falling for the wrong person or being the wrong type for someone you want.
