The Wayfaring Kind

Why do four in five Coloradans live on one narrow strip? Why has 180 miles of Florida never kept a port?

The Wayfaring Kind makes long-form documentaries about why places ended up the way they are — and the answer is almost never the obvious one.

Every film starts with the land itself, and we measure it: elevation models, surveyed depths, historical maps and archives, checked figure by figure. What you see on screen is what the ground actually says. Then we follow what people did with it — the treaties, the railroads, the water, the money.

Maps show where. We ask why.
