The Village School Foundation

The Village One Schoolhouse is a 1918 school building frozen in time at the heart of the Liberty Bell shaped historic district, U.S. Nitrate Plant Village One. This unique landscape design of this neighborhood was completed as an act of patriotism during the First World War. A grass roots effort is now underway to repair and restore the school building of Village One, an architectural gem of national historic significance that has sat abandoned for decades. 
The Village School Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) corporation dedicated to the continued restoration and public use of the Village School Building in Sheffield, Alabama's Nitrate Village No.1 Historic District.
