The Science of the Solar System

The Science of the Solar System, taught by Mike Brown at Caltech, is designed as a 9 week long course exploring the solar system around us through a strong scientific lens. Completing this course will give you an understanding of the way the scientific process is used to understand and investigate the planets and other bodies around us. Each week consists of approximately 3 hours of lectures, much like an in-person college class would. In fact, these videos are used to teach a class called "Introduction to the Solar System" at Caltech.

The course is serious and does not shy away from science, but most of  it is accessible by people with a wide variety of backgrounds. 

You can also take the entire class on Coursera, which includes quizzes, tests, and an exam to gently push you to interact more thoroughly with the material (also 100% free, though Coursera will sell you a completion certificate if that seems useful to you).
