The SaMe THeRaPy

The SaMe THeRaPy are a 3 (or 4) piece Lo-Fi band from Sydney who write, perform and produce all aspects of their sound and vision in a purely DIY fashion. Formed as Buried Spheres in 2009, changed name to BoRiS DRiVeR in 2012 (in order to secure a gig at a venue that was ignoring emails from 'Buried Spheres'). Their name changed again to SaMe THeRaPy in 2019, to avoid any connection to the UK's Boris Johnson.

The name SaMe THeRaPy comes from Bowie's 'Sons Of The Silent Age' on Heroes: 'listen to tracks by Sam Therapy and King Dice...' (with an added 'e').
Utilising sounds and concepts emerging from the performance / visual arts scenes of late 60s early 70s,
artists such as The VU, Bowie, Eno (and others!) became historic catalysts of a new music that seemed to place the creative impulse itself as having greater importance than mere technical proficiency.
ST have their own unique take on the same type of therapy. The main aim for the band and their listeners is to get the dosing right.
