The Royal Photographic Society

The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) is a registered charity and a membership organisation with a history back to 1853. We're here to guide you on your journey as a photographer, whether you are just starting out, working professionally as a photographer or working with photography as an curator or educator, or exploring your creativity as an artist. 

We offer a range of events and photography courses  where you can learn new skills and join others who share your interests.  We publish an award-winning monthly Journal, and we offer recognition for your photography through our Distinctions and professional qualifications. 

We also recognise those working in photography through our annual awards. In addition, participate in our activities locally and in special interest groups which range from genres such as Landscape and Contemporary, to a group for Women in Photography, and areas such as History and Science.
