The Private Secretary's Journal

The Private Secretary’s Journal blurs the boundary between an imagined kingdom and the history that shaped it. Told through the writings of Ian Köhler, private secretary and lifelong best friend to King Jonas of Dorstenland, it weaves royal duty, political intrigue, trauma, humor, and enduring friendship into events that feel real.

Situated in the North Sea, Dorstenland is an island nation with German foundations and British, Russian, and wider European influences. Its history lives in its monarchy, traditions, architecture, and people.

Ian’s journal reveals the private realities behind royal ceremony and diplomacy while chronicling attempted coups, national tragedy, long-buried secrets, and survival. At its heart is the bond between two men: one born to wear the Crown and the other determined to stand beside him, regardless of the cost.

The deeper you journey into Dorstenland, the harder it becomes to tell where European history ends and fiction begins.

Standhaft steht die Krone!
