The Practicing Gardener: William "Bill" Swantner

The process of being a gardener is similar to the process of being a medical professional. A patient, in our case-- a tree, a vegetable, an ornamental, turfgrass, soil- has symptoms and signs of an illness. A diagnosis is, often times, a best guess, based on research, learnings, and experience. And sometimes the diagnosis changes with more or newer information- hence, a gardener is one who practices the science of horticulture.
