The Portuguese Home

I’m Mar (that’s Portuguese for sea 🌊). I’m an architect and interior designer, with over a decade in Sustainable Architecture and Interior Design.

This channel is about Portuguese houses: how they were built, how they are lived in, and what they mean to the people inside them. Having lived and worked abroad, I understand the unique challenge of blending a fresh start with the comfort of familiar surroundings.

My content is rooted in three pillars:
Physical Home: what Portuguese houses are made of, and why they behave the way they do.
Cultural Home: craftsmanship, regional traditions, and design heritage.
Emotional Home: memory, belonging, and what it means to feel at home in Portugal.

Welcome to Portugal. 🇵🇹🏡💙
Até já,
Mar Jabouille
