The Open and Affirming Coalition

The Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ advocates for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, and equips UCC congregations to become effective witnesses to Christ’s extravagant welcome. The Open and Affirming Coalition, with over 1,700 churches and nearly 400,000 members, is the largest and fastest-growing LGBTQ-affirming church movement in the world. Our mission is to reach every congregation in the United Church of Christ until all UCC churches are a safe community for our LGBTQ neighbors. Our churches advocate for the basic rights of LGBTQ+ Americans and persecuted LGBTQ+ people in other countries. Our training programs help ONA congregations learn the best practices for ministry, advocacy and growth.
