The Mumtritionist®

I teach mothers and caregivers how nutrition during pregnancy, infancy and childhood can shape growth, development and health across the life course — using evidence-based guidance and foods that make sense for African families.

I'm Mma Orizu — The Mumtritionist: a Public Health Nutrition Specialist, Paediatric Nutrition Consultant at Dr. Mims Clinic & Wellness, Abuja, and Founder of The Mumtritionist Africa.

My journey into nutrition began in 2013, when I left clinical biochemistry after witnessing the devastating consequences of disease and becoming convinced that prevention must begin much earlier.

Here, we explore maternal and child nutrition, pregnancy, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, child growth, malnutrition prevention, and practical Nigerian food solutions.

No unnecessary food fear. No miracle foods. No passing trends.

Just evidence, practical nutrition and African food solutions families can actually use.

Feeding the Future. Nourishing Africa's Next Generation.
