The Kraken Consort

The Kraken Consort is a shared vision of three musicians, friends and colleagues whose musical tastes extend far beyond the baroque repertoire that brought them together: Bruno Helstroffer, a musician whose versatility and expressivity make him one of the most sought-after teorba players of our times; two internationally renowned lyrical singers: American born tenor Robert with Celtic roots, passionate about traditional folk music; and Soprano Chantal Santon Jeffery, a sought-after soloist for her interpretation of the English-language repertoires. Their interest in folk music brought them to Brittany where they met flautist Sylvain Barou, piper Brewen Favrau, and cittern player Ronan Pellen, three internationally acclaimed musicians who specialize in Irish, Scottish and Breton traditional folk music. Laurène Durantel, a talented double bass player, sought after for her eclecticism and her qualities as a chamber musician joined to enrichen this innovative and diverse group.
