THE GAUNTLET is a hard rock band formed in Akita City, Akita Prefecture, Japan, in 1986.
In 1990, the band relocated its base of activities to the Tokyo metropolitan area.
They disbanded in 1995.
In 2015, THE GAUNTLET reunited and released their first CD, “SUN DANCE.”
After another hiatus beginning in 2017, the band resumed activities in 2025 following the passing of original guitarist Tomoyuki Nanba in 2024.

Marking their return, THE GAUNTLET performed their first Tokyo show since 1995, signaling a full-scale revival.
