The Flora Files

The Flora Files explores the strange, beautiful, and often unbelievable world of plants and fungi. Each episode dives deep into one species at a time—uncovering bizarre adaptations, hidden life cycles, and the science behind nature’s most fascinating organisms. From carnivorous plants to glowing mushrooms, this channel is for the endlessly curious and the wonderfully weird.

About Me: I'm an Ecology professor turned homeschooling, stay-at-home-mom from the Midwest who just wants to yell about plants (and fungi) into the void and hopes some other people find the information interesting. I have a Master's in Biology with an Ecology/Environmental Sciences focus. My research focused on how plants influence the structure of the microbial communities around them. I can't get much more specific than that since I have kids and am trying to stay anonymous for their sake.
