One Turret Short Of A Château! The Expat Butchers

Join us, Clare & Nick Butcher  - at our Maison de Maître in the Charente Maritime in South West France with our two dogs Merlot and Flora adding to the fun. 

We bought a beautiful old 1875 building which locals call a chateau. Originally it was a thriving Cognac business, then in the 1930s it also became a sausage factory. We've filmed our journey to turn it from a derelict and unloved building into a boutique bed and breakfast business. With very little DIY experience, what could possibly go wrong?

We show you the reality and ups and downs of living and renovating in France, but as we are now open and taking guests we show you behind the scenes of running a Chambre D'hôtes, Gite and Table D'hôtes business.
