The Emptied Map

Every place on this channel was full once. Something emptied it. The Emptied Map finds out what, and why American retirees are quietly filling some of these places back up.

Every episode starts with a map that doesn't make sense. A country bigger than Germany with a hollow middle. A coastline everyone wants and an interior nobody kept. Then we follow the money: what it actually costs to live there, what the visa really requires, and the catch the brochures skip.

Every number is sourced. The full source list sits in every description. Corrections with receipts get a heart.

New documentary every other Friday at noon Eastern. A new Living Atlas film, slow nature for your biggest screen, every Monday.
