The Cornfed Viking

The Cornfed Viking is a nickname I was given in college, reflecting my Midwestern (Iowa) roots and Scandinavian heritage (Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian). The purpose of this channel is simply to share my hobbies and crafts, in the hope that someone might find something useful, interesting, or enjoyable along the way.

Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for a number of hands-on pursuits, most of which fall into the “craft” world. Music (primarily bluegrass) was my first love, followed by cooking and bread making, woodworking, shaving soap and brush making, some leatherwork, watchmaking (homages and mods), and — soon — 3D printing.

The intent here is not to teach formally, but to document these interests for the sake of posterity and to share the process with other like-minded folks who might benefit from seeing how these things are done.
