The Black Beauty Activist Podcast with Dr. Tameka

The Black Beauty Activist Podcast with Dr. Tameka is a show that discusses critical conversations helping to disrupt and dismantle Westernize beauty ideas for the purpose of increasing cultural consciousness and confidence in Black women. 
Many in the Black culture still don’t understand the repercussions of colonialism and slavery on our ideals of beauty and we continue to submit to what society continues to tell us beauty is supposed to be. As a result, we use risky and artificial ways of attempting to obtain an unachievable standard which has a tremendous adverse impact on our self-esteem and cultural consciousness. It's time for a change!
