The Waterhole Diaries

The Waterhole Diaries invites you into the heart of the bushveld at The Baobab Bush Lodge in South Africa. Storyteller Charlie Hudson captures the quiet, unscripted moments that unfold around the waterhole, where wildlife arrives on its own terms.

From giraffe, zebra, kudu, nyala, and wildebeest by day to civets, porcupines, and genets after dark, each visit reveals the natural rhythms of the bush. On rare occasions, even a leopard steps silently into view, reminding us how unpredictable and extraordinary these encounters can be. Set within the secure Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, the lodge offers an intimate setting where animals roam freely and every moment feels personal.

Located just 30 minutes from Kruger National Park and around 40 minutes from the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon, The Baobab Bush Lodge is the perfect base to explore the Lowveld.

This channel is about patience, presence, and observation—because every visitor tells a story. Welcome to The Waterhole Diaries.
