The Babaz

Introducing The Babaz, a dynamic boy band that’s redefining the sound of modern Kenyan music with its fresh, authentic approach to songwriting, production, and performance. Composed of three multifaceted musicians, Ras Amor, Baraza and Mathai Njama, The Babaz bring their unique chemistry to every song, combining innovative soundscapes with emotionally charged lyrics. The Babaz are not just performers, but creators, with every track penned, produced, and performed by the group itself.
Hailing from diverse backgrounds, The Babaz bonded over a shared love for music and quickly realized their ability to collaborate on every aspect of the creative process– from writing lyrics that explore love, loss and self-discovery, to producing beats that get you moving, the band takes full ownership of their art by blending elements of Afro Pop, R&B, Blues, Rhumba, Rock, and Soul, to create an alternative and timeless sound.
