The Art of Mook Yan Jong | Wing Chun Wooden Dummy

Wing Chun wooden dummy training through contact, transition, structure, and perception.

The Art of Mook Yan Jong approaches Wing Chun wooden dummy (Mook Yan Jong) training as tactile education—not simply the memorization of a form.
The method emphasizes wrist-hand connection, continuous contact, structural organization, weight transfer, changing force vectors, and continuous transition. The dummy serves as a stable reference through which these qualities are isolated, developed, and progressively integrated.

METHOD
One-Arm → Two-Arm → Complete Wooden Dummy Form
One-Arm develops precise contact and structural clarity. Two-Arm integrates bilateral coordination, stepping, turning, and multidirectional force. The Complete Form integrates these qualities into continuous whole-body movement.
Movement should not interrupt contact.
Contact should guide movement.
The transition is the training.
