The Mothermold

A mother-and-daughter heavy rock band from Austin, Texas. Visual artist Lalena Fisher, formerly of NYC’s The Color Guard and The Hissyfits, plays guitar while Annika kicks serious butt on drums. They named their project after the supportive outer shell of a sculptural mold, as a metaphor for their relationship. The Mothermold is an experiment in superimposing a mother-daughter bond on the stereotypically male “rock band” trope. Both sing and write songs that fuse metal, punk, prog and pop. They also help to advocate for LGBTQ+ and disability rights.

The Mothermold opened for Harry Styles on the Hulu patio stage at the Moody Center, and have also performed in New York City and London. On their home turf, they’ve played at ABGB, Parlor, Empire Control Room, Flamingo Cantina, Batch, and Highland Lakes Equality Fest. Their album FLESH OF MY FLESH is available for streaming on all platforms. They plan to go into the studio to record new material in 2026.
