My Father passed away at 48 yrs old of Cirrhosis of the liver, I was diagnosed in 2019, I was on the waiting list at another center for 2.5 yrs, after an interesting turn of events I ended up at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where I was on the wait list literally 3 days !
I had severe hepatic encephalopathy, I went from palliative care to hospice care, hospice as scary as that was, I knew what that meant, I felt my body dying, my body was not functioning, organs were shutting down, my brain filled with ammonia. I got my life saving call and while in hospice care got UCMC and got my liver, Im living life to the fullest, loving life and appreciating this gift, this podcast is about liver disease, transplants pre and post and most important Organ Donation .
