Skin the Peeler

Skin The Peeler (named after an Irish Jig) blends Celtic folk Roots and World Music with an a touch of musical genius.
One of the first Celtic Rock Bands of the 80’s they later pioneered a unique acoustic lineup featuring cello, mandocello, saxophone, flute, two drummers and acoustic guitar. Multiple gigs, including 2 appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Fairport Convention’s Cropredy and the legendary Heineken Free Festivals cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting instrumental bands on the circuit.
This channel takes you from the early wild days (Skin the Peeler. 1984), through to the highly acclaimed acoustic era (Facing the Sun. 1989/ World Dance 1991/ Friends and Lovers 1994) up to present day collaborations with assorted Peeler musicians working with founder members Terry Barter (mandocello) and Rod Salter (Saxophone and Flute).
