St. Albert the Great University Parish

St. Albert the Great University Parish, located in Houghton, Michigan, is an active and vibrant parish that is home to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Michigan Technological University, Finlandia University, and Gogebic Community College. 

We are proud of our 73-year history of student-led ministries including evangelization on campus, retreats, faith-sharing groups, service events, and fellowship. What started as a club for 21 students in 1946, now is a university parish of almost 1,000 student parishioners and 50 year-round households. St. Al's has a persistent history of sustained growth, which includes an increasing depth of impact. 

Within the last five years, thanks to the addition of six FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) missionaries, we now have more than two dozen Bible studies led by 25 trained students, including more than 120 active participants.
