Sophocles Zoullas

In 2005, Sophocles Zoullas founded Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc., and within eight months of its formation he had led the company through an initial public offering on Nasdaq, establishing one of the earliest and most successful U.S. shipping IPOs of the modern era. Over the decade that followed, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, he built Eagle Bulk into a 45-vessel fleet and one of the world's most significant owners of Supramax dry bulk vessels. Today he is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Shipping, a privately held maritime investment and operating platform with interests across the tanker and dry bulk sectors.

Eagle Bulk grew quickly. In 2009, Fortune Small Business included the company in its ranking of the 100 Fastest-Growing Small Public Companies in America.
