Smith School Music Department

The Smith School of Music is part of The Smith School, an alternative education school based on New York's Upper West Side. The Smith School of Music provides music tuition in Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, Flute, Voice and Violin. 

Students currently enrolled in the Smith School, can avail of music tuition as part of their electives.

The Smith School was started in 1990 as an opportunity for students to gain individualized attention and small class instruction. When the school began, the focus was on working with students that struggle in a larger setting, whether that be at public school or another private or charter school. Since 1990, our mission has remained the same: creating a nurturing environment where students get the accommodations they need. 

The Smith School of Music was created in 2019, to expand the music program to the greater community and provide music lessons for all ages.
