Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra

The Piracicaba Symphony Orchestra has been in operation since 1900. It is recognized by law by the city and the state of São Paulo as a public utility entity. In December 2020, it received the city's Intangible Cultural Heritage Registry, granted by Codepac. Its restructuring project began in 2015, led by maestro Jamil Maluf, as artistic director and principal conductor, and cellist André Micheletti, associate artistic director. Since then, the OSP has created regular seasons, with renowned soloists and guest conductors, in addition to performing at the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival and Sala São Paulo. In December 2021, Jamil Maluf became its conductor emeritus, while German conductor Knut Andreas took over as principal conductor and artistic director and Micheletti as associate artistic director.
