Singapore Foochow Association Chinese Orchestra

The Singapore Foochow Association Chinese Orchestra (SFACO) was established in 1983. Currently, the orchestra comprises of musicians from diverse backgrounds, such as students, young working adults and professionals. It is led by conductor and Bowed Strings instructor, Mr. Zheng Kaiwen. The orchestra’s sectional instructors include Ms Yao Xing and Mr Ng Weixuan for the Woodwinds, Mr Chan Jing Wen Kenny for the Plucked Strings, and Ms Nancy Ong for Percussion.

Since 2015, SFACO has held annual sold-out concerts titled《榕琴缘》across various concert halls in Singapore. We have continuously challenged ourselves, introducing numerous Singapore premieres and even a world premiere through our annual concerts, thus reaching new heights in the Chinese Orchestra scene.

SFACO is committed to the promotion of ethnic Chinese music and culture in the local community, and will continually work hard to improve the performing skills and music appreciation level of its members.
