The word "Setouchi" is said to refer to the climate and culture created by the Seto Inland Sea, the first national park designated in Japan. It is said that there are more than 700 islands in the Setouchi, including the world-famous Naoshima and Teshima. While the islands of the Seto Inland Sea offer us beautiful scenery, there are many islands where nature has been destroyed by human hands.

My mother was born on an island called Koyoshima and lived there until she graduated from junior high school.
