SABBS South African Boerboel Breeders Society

Welcome to the South African Boerboel Breeders’ Society (SABBS), the official breeders' organisation dedicated to the Boerboel, a recognised South African landrace.

SABBS holds exclusive authorisation under the South African Animal Improvement Act, No. 62 of 1998 (AIA) to formally register Boerboels. As the legally registered custodian of the Boerboel breed, SABBS is responsible for setting the standards that govern the identification, recording, evaluation, and improvement of the breed.

Since its establishment in September 2014, SABBS has gained the support of over 900 Boerboel breeders and owners worldwide. Those interested in this distinctive breed are strongly advised to verify the membership status and registration of any Boerboel to ensure compliance with SABBS standards.
