Rowan's Down Syndrome Awareness Centre

Support for people with Down syndrome this  initiative started by Mildred Katusabe a munyoro from Hoima Uganda. Mildred gave birth to Rowan in 2018, and found out he had down syndrome. As she and her husband Christopher Cripps encountered the challenges of learning about and providing , the special care needed for Rowan (as well as a traumatic open heart surgery in India). Mildred became more inspired to share this more widely within her community. Rowan's Center has so far made contact with and supports 120 people with Down syndrome. Through raising more awareness about Down syndrome(most people relate it to witchcraft or curse ). Mutual support,  physio/,  speech/ occupational and behavioral therapy, health and nutrition, advocate for recognition and support from Government,   training for people with Down Syndrome to become independent.
